The 2007 Women's Retreat  was enjoyed by 36 women in Granbury, March 2-4.  Meetings were in the lovely American Heritage House bed and breakfast (www.americanheritagehouse.com).  The women were lodged in that Inn and The Iron Horse Inn and Baker Street Harbor.  The speaker for the event was LaRue Laymance, who shared with the group stories about women of the Bible and the lessons learned from those women that can be applied to our lives today.

Rev. Bob Hanson led the communion worship service on Sunday morning.

Our annual "Festival of Tables" is held in Fellowship Hall during December.

This is an evening of fun and fellowship for ladies of the church.  Each hostess decorates her table for Christmas and provides dessert for her ladies.  Many times, two people will choose to host a table together.  Guests are welcome.

Knitting Group

The 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, knitters gather at 1:00 in the parlor to knit prayer shawls.  These shawls are given to those who are going through a difficult time, to show our love and concern for them.  A number of shawls were blessed during worship in November.  They were knit by: Marlene Baker, Polly Baugh, Sandy Boice, Elizabeth Harris, Ethyl Johnson, Margaret Kleopfer, Bev Koch, Marge Orr, Judy Poindexter, Dee Uhri, and Natalie Watkins.

Anyone who would like to join the knitters is welcome.  Bev Koch is the contact person for this group.

Happy Quilters

Each Monday at 1:00 pm the Happy Quilters meet in room 204 to learn basic quilting skills and to build new friendships with ladies who are interested in the creative process of quilting. You do not need prior quilting experience to join and you can decide how much time you want to devote to each project.

Allena Coburn is the contact person for this group.  Contact her at 817-466-7454 for more information.

The first project was a quilted jacket.  The group is now working on a quilt to be raffled at the Bazarrnival this summer.
