The apostle Paul tells us to “bear one another’s burdens, and in this you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2) The office of Deacon is an ordained office “of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ.” You may suggest names for the nominating committee to consider when selecting deacons for the next term. The moderator of Deacons is Mary Spencer The deacons participate as team members of the following teams: Hospitality Team has responsibilities for shepherds, interviewers, data upkeep and input. Deacons on this team are Yvonne Mickelson, Shirley Bragg, Karen Flynn, Amy Cohen, Jan Fogg, . Staff resource is Rob McClelland. Ministry Team has responsibilities for spiritual gifts classes, volunteer opportunities, life groups, marriage course. Deacons on this team are Jim Cicherski, Matt Annen, Carol Moody and Mary Spencer. Staff resource is Rob McClelland. Congregational Care Team oversees congregational visitation, hospital visitation, caring for the homebound members, caring for those who are grieving and arranging receptions for funerals, prayer ministry. Deacons on this team are: Linda McClelland, Mary Ellen Miller, Sally Dysart, Teresa Hanson, Pat Henry, Laurie Bell and Suzie Floyd. Staff resource is Esther Choi. Fellowship and Nurture Team has responsibilities for hospitality, kitchen guild, picnics, refreshments and receptions. Deacons on this team are: Ellen Collins, Margaret Jones, Mary Hill, Joyce Stephenson. Staff resources are Rob McClelland, Jim McCoy.
