Job Summary:

This Associate Pastor will worship and glorify God and administer to the faith needs of our congregation and community. Responsibilities shall include developing, implementing, guiding and evaluating a ministry for youth, young adults and families. This position includes participation in and development of an
active mission and evangelism ministry.

Job Duties:

  1. Develop, implement, coordinate and oversee the Youth Ministries and Programs.
    1. Develop a strategic, creative and comprehensive program for teens; pursue innovative approaches to educational offerings and settings.
    2. Promote Biblically-based teaching for a Reformed theological respective to encourage and support the faith journey.
    3. Recruit and train teachers for Youth Sunday School programs. Teach class if needed. Recruit and train volunteer for youth programs and functions.
    4. Plan outings and activities throughout the year (e.g. retreats, ski trips, Bible studies, mission trips, etc).
  2. Create and Lead Young Adult Ministry.
    1. Reach out and assist young adults in discipleship development through education and support.
    2. Coordinate communication for young adult ministry.
    3. Disciple and equip young adults to live the Christian life .
  3. Minister to Families
    1. Develop, coordinate and implement family-based ministries.
    2. Provide leadership for the development and continuance of a parents prayer-based ministry.
    3. Periodically teach family-oriented studies (e.g. marriage, parenting, communications, etc.).
  4. Mission and Evangelism
    1. Help formulate local, national and international mission goals and expectations and regularly review their progress.
    2. Regularly evaluate and promote local and foreign missions supported by FPCA.
    3. Assist in allocating mission fund requests for trips, projects and individuals in need.
  5. Perform Associate Pastor Work
    1. Participate in Worship Services.
    2. Assist in pastoral care of church members and share responsibilities in the visitation and sharing of Sacraments to the sick, homebound and in emergency situations.
    3. Assist in church training, perform counseling and other pastoral duties as needed.
  6. Attend and be involved in weekly staff meetings and other meetings as needed.
  7. Conduct other duties as assigned by Head of Staff.

  1. Candidate should be an ordained minister in Presbyterian Church (USA).
  2. Candidate exhibits a vibrant faith that draws others to know Christ as Savior and Lord and by growing active disciples for Christ.
  3. Candidate seeks to minister to the whole family.
  4. Candidate believes in an involving, reforming faith that is visibly filled with the grace and love of the Holy Spirit.
  5. Candidate can demonstrate ability to recognize and develop leadership potential.
  6. Candidate has conceptual skills and can develop an idea into an active ministry.
