Arlington Relay for Life - Cancer Walk
A "BIG" thank you goes out to the congregation of First Presbyterian Church for your support of the Arlington Relay.
Whether your contribution was through the purchase of luminaries, general contributions, time to walk, participation
in the event or sending your thoughts and prayers the way of so many in our church who are currently fighting that
battle, we appreciate you so much.
Though the evening was filled with great emotion, it was so inspiring to see First Presbyterian's cancer survivors
taking the first lap around the course. What an inspiration!! Lining the course were
luminaries remembering those who
lost their battles and those honoring survivors who are still battling as well as those who have overcome.
It was a wonderful celebration of life!
The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, held in Arlington at the Spring Creek Pavilion out at Ranger Stadium,
raised approximately $60,000. The goal was $55,000. First Presbyterian church set a goal for $3000, and we raised $2525.
We will have a final total at the Wrap-Up Party on June 14th. It is not too late to donate if you didn't have an opportunity
to do so prior to the event. June 14th is the deadline for accepting donations for our team.
A special thanks to James Ditto and Bob Dawson who helped pull our team together and to Homer Reynolds who grilled
some great hot dogs and kept us fed through out the evening!!
